Scope & contact
Capitol Words is published by Your Skin Matters, LLC. This policy covers the Capitol Words app and these support pages. Contact support@runewords.online with Capitol Words in the subject for privacy questions or requests.
The game keeps a saved game on your device and uses online services for shared play. Online play starts with an anonymous game account. Its identifier can link your game activity. Optional Sign in with Apple can connect that account to an Apple identity when the feature is available; it does not by itself save your latest progress.
Information used by the game
| Information | How it is used |
|---|---|
| Local saved game | Puzzle progress, found and bonus words, revealed letters, hints, levels, points, coins, boosters, daily activity, streaks, goals, collections, companions, prizes and reward-delivery records keep play and rewards consistent. Solve time, hint use and invalid attempts inform campaign difficulty. Sound, vibration, tap selection, scenery and reminder preferences are saved on the device. |
| Online player account | A Firebase account ID, game account token, display name, app-assigned region code, creation time, campaign level, points, server-side game balances, team membership, friend code and reward records support online identity and shared play. |
| Optional Apple sign-in | Apple's identity credential and any name or other account details Apple supplies are processed by Firebase to link or reopen a game account. The sign-in flow requests your name. The game does not ask for your Apple Account password. |
| Personal cloud save | When you choose to save progress and saving is available, the service stores a compressed copy of your game save with its account ID, device identifier, version, integrity checksum, size and save times. This can include the local game information described above. The save supports a later, explicitly chosen restore for that account. |
| Online puzzle activity | Puzzle IDs and revisions, letter paths submitted for validation, completions, assignments, scores, start and finish times, event enrollment and reward claims support scoring, fair play and prevention of duplicate rewards. |
| Teams & community | Team names and descriptions, membership and roles, messages, help requests, helper IDs, timestamps, blocked-player IDs and reports support team features and moderation. A report can retain a copy of the reported message with the reporter's ID and reason. |
| Mutual friends | Friend codes, incoming and outgoing requests, player IDs, display names, request times and accepted connections support adding friends and comparing this month's or all-time puzzle points. Removing or blocking a player also removes the connection and pending requests between those accounts. |
| Purchases & reward videos | Product and transaction IDs, purchase and checkout dates, purchase context, entitlement or revocation status, ad reward IDs and fulfillment records deliver purchases and earned rewards once. Purchase context can include the original milestone event or piggy-bank amount. |
| Support messages | If you contact support, the email address, message, attachments and game details you provide are used to investigate your request and communicate with you. |
Google Firebase
Capitol Words uses Firebase Authentication for an anonymous account, Cloud Firestore for online game data, Cloud Functions for validated game actions, and App Check with Apple's App Attest for request integrity. Service processing can include IP addresses, request information and integrity tokens or attestation material. Read Firebase's privacy and security information.
The game service also keeps request receipts, rate-limit records and operational error information to handle retries and investigate abuse or failures. Game-service connections use HTTPS, and access rules limit private player records and team chat. Google may process service information in the United States and other countries where its infrastructure operates.
The app code does not configure Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics. Advertising measurement is described below.
Advertising & privacy choices
When ads are available, the app uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Google may process IP address and approximate location inferred from it, app or device identifiers, ad views and interactions, app interactions, performance information and diagnostics to deliver, measure and protect advertising. The app does not request precise-location permission. See Google's SDK data disclosure and Google's privacy policy.
UMP supplies applicable consent and privacy forms. The app checks whether ads may be requested. When privacy options are required, open the game's Store and choose Privacy choices to revisit the form. Available choices depend on the messages and requirements applicable to you. See Google's explanation of UMP.
Ad-removal purchases cover banners and ads between puzzles. Optional reward videos remain available when offered and use the same advertising services.
Cloud saves & optional account recovery
The game service supports a personal cloud save for the signed-in game account. Saving and restoring are manual choices where the Account controls are available. Signing in with Apple can link an existing game account or reopen the account previously associated with that Apple identity. Restoring saved progress is a separate choice; linking or signing in does not automatically upload or replace your current game. Read Firebase's explanation of Apple authentication.
The cloud save is retrieved through the account's authenticated game service and is not visible to other players. Version checks prevent a stale save from silently replacing a newer one. Personal saves do not set online tournament scores or establish eligibility for online rewards. Some app versions may show saving or recovery controls as unavailable. Confirm a successful save before relying on a backup; automatic recovery after reinstalling is not promised.
Apple purchases, device backups & notifications
Apple processes App Store payments. The app uses StoreKit's verified transaction and entitlement information to deliver products, restore eligible purchases and apply refunds or revocations. An app-specific account token may accompany a purchase to associate it with the game account. The app does not receive your payment-card number. Read Apple's App Store privacy information.
Apple or your device settings may separately back up local app data. Such a device backup is different from a personal save uploaded to the Capitol Words game service. An anonymous account alone is not a guarantee of access from another device or installation.
The optional daily reminder is a notification scheduled on the device after you enable it and allow notification permission. Manage it in game Settings or iOS Settings. Apple's optional device diagnostics follow your Apple analytics choices.
Retention & your choices
Local data remains in app storage until it is removed or changed, or iOS removes or restores it. Online account, personal cloud saves, play, friends, community and delivery records are retained while needed to operate shared play, preserve chosen saves, deliver purchases, prevent duplicate rewards, handle support, moderate abuse and meet applicable obligations. A gameplay timer ending does not necessarily erase its underlying record.
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction or deletion of information controlled by Capitol Words. Support may need information from the affected installation to identify and verify an account. An email address by itself may not identify a guest account. We will explain if a record must be retained for a legal or security reason.
To delete the account currently open in the game, go to Settings > Account & saved game > Delete account and confirm Delete account and game data. Guest accounts use the account open on that device. Apple-linked accounts require fresh confirmation with the same Apple Account to verify the account and revoke the game's Apple sign-in authorization. Read the account deletion guide before confirming.
Deletion removes account-linked game progress, personal cloud saves, friends, team membership, chat and online ranking records from the game service. After online deletion is confirmed, the app clears that account's saved game on this device. If a connection or cleanup step is interrupted, the game keeps the request and pauses play and purchases until completion. Use Finish account deletion when offered; a pending status does not mean all data has been removed. Choose Start new game only after the game confirms deletion.
After deletion, a limited completion record and coded references for used purchases and rewards are retained to confirm deletion and prevent the same purchase or reward from being used twice. These records do not retain your display name, region, saved progress or chat. The deleted account's balances and purchase benefits do not automatically transfer to a new account.
If the device or account is unavailable, contact support for deletion help. An email request is not immediate deletion. You can also manage Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings. Stopping Apple sign-in or removing the app alone does not delete the game service's records. Apple billing records, device backups and logs controlled by service providers follow their separate processes.
Children's information
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child provided personal information through the game, contact support so the account and information can be reviewed. Send only the details needed to identify the affected installation.
These webpages
These support pages contain no analytics scripts, ad embeds, third-party fonts, contact form or tracking cookies. Opening an external link contacts that destination. The hosting service may receive ordinary request logs such as IP address, requested path, browser information and timestamp for delivery, security and troubleshooting.
Policy updates
The latest policy is published on this page with its update date. For questions about a change, contact support@runewords.online.
Optional Game Center
If you connect to Game Center from Home or Settings, Capitol Words reads your Game Center player identifier and display name and reports the number of campaign puzzles you have completed and your achievement progress to Apple. Game Center can display your nickname, scores and achievements to other players according to Apple's sharing settings. These reports do not include your coin balance, purchase records, team chat or personal cloud save.
Choose Stop sharing progress in the game's Game Center screen to stop further reports from this installation. This does not remove scores or achievements already held by Apple. Manage your Game Center profile and sharing choices in iOS Settings. Game Center and your Capitol Words saved-game account are separate; deleting the game account does not delete your Apple Account or Game Center profile. See Apple's Game Center privacy information.
